4.113.010 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to assure that the fees charged by the Kitsap County sheriff for official services are in keeping with the actual cost of performing those tasks.

4.113.020 Definitions.
(1) “Sheriff” means the elected sheriff of Kitsap County or his/her deputy sheriff or employee.
(2) “CPI” means the Consumer Price Index for the Seattle area.

4.113.030 Schedule of fees.
(1) RCW 36.18.040 sets out what fees the sheriff can charge for official services.
(2) RCW 36.18.040(3) allows the county legislative authority to set the amounts of fees that shall be collected by the sheriff to cover the cost of administration and operation.

4.113.040 Adjustment of fees.
(1) The fees set forth herein shall be adjusted automatically every January 1st, to account for any increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-W) for the Seattle area as of the preceding July report.
(2) The ordinance codified in this chapter shall take effect thirty days after enactment by the Kitsap County board of commissioners.
