1.16.010 Operation generally.
The board of commissioners designates the Kitsap County fair board to act as advisor and community liaison with respect to the planning and operations of the annual Kitsap County Fair.

1.16.040 Fair board created – Members – Officers.
There is created a Kitsap County fair board to be appointed by the commissioners of Kitsap County to serve at the pleasure of the commissioners. The board shall consist of nine members to be chosen as follows: one member to act as the commercial exhibits representative, one member to act as the concessions representative, one member to act as entertainment representative, one member to act as admissions representative, one member to act as the still exhibits representative, one member to act as the open class livestock representative, one member to act as the rodeo representative, one member to act as parking and traffic representative, and one member to act as security representative. The board shall elect from their membership a chair and such other officers, as they deem advisable. The member designated as chair shall not cast a vote in the deliberating of the board, except to break a tie. The board shall advise the Kitsap County commissioners and county staff with respect to fair operations, and, upon request of the county commissioners, upon all matters pertinent to successful presentation of the annual Kitsap County Fair. Fair board members shall serve in a voluntary capacity, without pay.

1.16.050 Fair board – Terms of office.
Within thirty days following the effective date of the resolution codified in this chapter, the commissioners shall appoint to the board, four members being appointed for terms of one year, two members being appointed for terms of two years, and two members being appointed for a term of three years. At the expiration of the initial terms of office, all such appointments shall automatically terminate subject to reappointment by the board of county commissioners. All terms of office of fair board members shall, following the initial terms set forth above, be for three years from the date of appointment.
