The existing soil types present must be evaluated to assess the infiltration capacity of the site and the applicability of various stormwater BMPs. General requirements for infiltration facilities, including site characterization and infiltration rate determination, are presented in Volume I, Chapter 4 and in Volume II, Chapter 5.
