CLERK OF THE BOARD

2.06.010 County commissioners to designate clerk of the board.
Beginning on October 6, 1981, at the hour of 2:00 p.m. the clerk of the board of county commissioners shall be directly employed by and serve at the pleasure of the board.

2.06.020 Duties.
The duties of the clerk of the board shall include:
(1) Preparation of the agendas for and attendance at all meetings of the board of commissioners;
(2) Preparation of a record of all proceedings of the board of commissioners, the original of which shall upon approval by the board be filed with the county auditor and a copy retained in a public file of the board;
(3) Attest to the proceedings of the board of county commissioners;
(4) Authorization to use the seal of the board of commissioners to attest the proceedings of the board’s official acts;
(5) Set date of public hearings and other public notices pertaining to board of commissioners’ meetings; preparation of legal notices and publication of same as required by law;
(6) File with the county auditor all certificates, exemplifications of records, or other acts certified under the seal of the county commissioners, acted upon while the board of commissioners is in session;
(7) Receive, date and disburse appeals filed relating to land use recommendations of the planning commission or hearing examiner as well as claims filed against the county;
(8) Receive, date and disburse all mail and other communications directed to the board of commissioners or any individual member;
(9) Any other duties as required.

2.06.030 Deputy clerk of the board.
In case the clerk of the board is unable to attend to the duties outlined in Section 2.06.020, the board of commissioners may appoint a deputy clerk of the board, directly employed by the board, to act as such to perform the clerk of the board’s duties.
